Direct metering: utility satellites

A utility satellite is a thermo-hydraulic control unit that allows the autonomous management of heating and DHW production in presence of centralised systems.
 In a utility satellite, the fluid from the boiler is sent to the heating plant or to a heat exchanger by means of which the domestic water from the water mains is taken to the set temperature, if requested by the domestic utility.
 In addition to guaranteeing total autonomy in managing the "heat", the utility satellite is an efficient solution for fast and correct metering of the resources (domestic water and thermal energy) effectively used by the individual user.
 The system in this way conceived joins the advantages of a centralised plant (less polluting, safer and less expensive to manage) to those of an autonomous plant.

The IvarSAT system has been conceived to satisfy three fundamental requisites:

1. autonomously adjust heating, even with a centralised heat generator;

2. produce DHW locally;

3. efficiently meter the consumptions, of mains water and heat, relating to "area" covered by individual satellite.

The IvarSAT utility satellites are compact and functional systems for metering the resources, the autonomous heating management and the instantaneous production of DHW.
All IvarSAT utility satellites are characterised by:

 1. circuit for the discharge of the heat carrier fluid to the utilities;

 2. heat exchanger and circuit dedicated to instantaneous DHW production;

 3. set-up for heat meter and DCW meter, purchasable in "ad hoc" kits for each type of system.

Different models of IvarSAT are placed on this basic structure that, together with the different accessories provided, make this system suitable for a wide range of residential set-ups.

The IVAR proposal has three large families, distinguished for type of heating plant:

  • IvarSAT-H= High temperature heating only, suitable for radiator plants
  • IvarSAT-L= Low temperature heating only, suitable for radiant panels plants
  • IvarSAT-HL= High/low mixed heating temperature, suitable for radiant panels/radiator mixed plants

For L and HL families equipped with relaunch pump, both a 3-speed traditional pump and a variable capacity pump ("E" in product code) are available.

The "basic" domestic circuit is equipped with one input (mains water) and two outputs (cold water and hot water mixed through thermostatic mixer having anti-burn function). However, all models are also available with the following additional systems:

  • Recirculation circuit, complete with recirculation pump and check valve ("R" in product code) useful if the DHW pick-up points are away from the point of production
  • Direct unit for the supply of non mixed DHW ("1" in product code) useful if requiring high temperature domestic water (e.g. kitchen sinks)

The electronic kits for cold water and heat metering are arranged in direct version, M-BUS or radio version - the latter with data concentration possibility.
