Ivar-Push

In addition to M·P and P·M·P, press fittings, IVAR offers an alternative line of fittings for multi-layer pipes, or IVAR PUSH quick coupling push-fittings. Within the IVAR ·PUSH line there are two product sub-families:

• the non-threaded PLASTIC·PUSH (made of PPSU thermoplastic)
• the threaded BRASS·PUSH products (with dezincification-resistant CW602N yellow brass body and threaded parts , and bushings for connecting the PPSU technopolymer pipe).

Clamping is not necessary to hook the pipe to the fitting; simply insert the pipe into the bushing, whose shape is designed prevent release. The main advantages of this type of fitting are the considerable reduction in installation time and greater convenience and facility of connection in small spaces, despite having the same properties as the connections presented previously:

• elimination of corrosion and encrustation problems
• high mechanical and thermal resistance
• conformity with regulations concerning drinking water
• available in various configurations (T, elbow, straight) in sizes: 16/2, 20/2, 26/3, 32/3

Fitting Components

1. Body made of brass or high thermal and mechanical resistance PPSU technopolymer. The use of this material eliminates problems of corrosion and possible encrustations. Furthermore, it is compliant with plumbing applications in contact with potable water. The sawtooth finish of the fitting terminals facilitates the binding of the pipe to the fitting and increases its detachment resistance in the event the pipe and fitting system is subject to traction stress.

2. Bushing made of polyamide 66 + fibreglass.. This component is screwed directly onto the body of the fitting and is made up of two parts welded together, which contain the parts for gripping the pipe (ogive and grip spring).

3. The ogive, made of plastic, allows, in cooperation with the grip spring (5), locking the pipe into place once it has been inserted into the bushing, impeding its removal. The ogive acts as a stopper, preventing release of the spring. Further, when placed in traction, it squeezes the pipe blocking it against the teeth present on the body of the fitting.

4. O-ring: Each fitting end has two EPDM peroxide o-rings, that guarantee a perfect hydraulic seal between the pipe and the fitting.. The o-rings are food grade certified pursuant to the most stringent European regulations, therefore permitting the use of the IVAR·PUSH system in contact with potable water. The o-rings must be lubricated with water or with silicone based oils.Lubricating o-rings with mineral based oils or grease is absolutely prohibited.
